Hello! I have enjoyed reading your food blog for a long time! I live half time in Wisconsin and half time in Ontario, Canada. Now that I’m retired I gave time to cook and QUILT! Your projects are really lovely. I wanted to mention that if you haven’t looked at Hawthorn Fabrics on line you might want to check them out. They carry really interesting fabric lines. Service is fast and friendly! I buy most if my fabric on line Missouri Star, Fat Quarter Shop and Hawthorn.
Hope the snow fall these past days wasn’t too bad by you! Spring is on the way!
Take Care and keep sewing! Sheila

Hey Sheila: I actually buy from Hawthorne Threads all the time! They are awesome and I love their in-house fabrics that they are designing themselves and printing. Glad you are having more time for cooking and quilting – yay!

I’m curious, how long could it take for you to cut the fabric & sew it all together? Do you sell your quilts or is it all personnal? Thank you for what you are doing!

I really like the gray goose quilt. I have been collecting grays for another quilt but I like yours better! Is there a pattern and what is the size of the triangle? Thank you

Kathleen: Thank you! I did not use a pattern. I made Half Square Triangles to make the Grey Goose Quilt. The HSTs were 5.5 inches, before sewing into rows. So I had 120 blocks total for the quilt – some of these were just plain white blocks, which made up the negative space. So basically I just made a bunch of HSTs in various greys and then white blocks for background. I don’t know exact yardages, but I think I used almost 3 yards for the front. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response. Your creativity is astonishing. I can see the Half square triangles now. My daughter is moving into a new home and her color of choice is gray. Can’t wait to get started! Kathleen Wilkes
